Birkby Veterinary Physiotherapy takes your data protection and privacy seriously and will only use your details to provide the service your have requested from us.

Personal information gathered may include your name, address and contact details and only the essential information is gathered. Data is stored electronically on password protected laptop, iPad or iPhone, or on paper in locked storage. Should paper copies be transferred to electronic storage, paper copies will be destroyed.

Your personal data is used only to communicate with you. Information/data is not used in communication with anyone else and is used to communicate with other professionals involved in your animal with your permission only.  However, please note Veterinary Physiotherapists are only able to assess and treat your animal with the consent of your veterinarian, as per the Veterinary Surgeons Act (1966). Veterinarians often requested a report of physiotherapy findings and treatment, which is communicated by email, letter or telephone conversation. Communication with any other professional regarding your animal is by your permission only. Data/information will be kept for 10 years before being deleted or destroyed.

If you wish to access, adjust or delete your data please contact us.

At times, with your permission, photos or videos may be taken to share with your veterinarian to discuss clinical changes or to share with ACPAT colleagues for educational purposes. Images and videos will be anonymised and kept password protected.
